Indian Pharmacological Society (IPS)


Indian Pharmacological Society (www.indianpharmacology.org) is one of the largest societies of Pharmacologists having more than 3000 members of medical, dental, pharmacy and veterinary background, representing academic institutions, CROs, national laboratories, regulatory agencies and consultancies.

It holds the annual conference in the month of December, which is highly attended by participants from India and abroad and also members from other pharmacological societies. The conference provides a unique platform for academic and social interaction. Several policy decisions in the country are based on recommendations arising from the conference deliberations.

 

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)


AIIMS (www.aiims.edu)was established in 1956 by an act of the Parliament as an Institute of National importance with the objective to develop patterns of teaching in undergraduate and post-graduate medical education and to demonstrate a high standard of medical education in India. The institute has been rated as No. 1 institute for education, research and patient care by several rating agencies for the last several years.

The alumni of Department of Pharmacology, AIIMS (aiimspharmaalumni@gmail.com)have demonstrated excellence in their professional career throughout the globe. It offers various post-graduate and post-doctoral courses like M.Sc., M.D., Ph.D. and D.M. (Clinical Pharmacology).

The department is equipped with modern analytical systems and uses contemporary in vivo techniques. It runs National Pharmacovigilance Programme, National Poisons Information Centre, Therapeutic Drug Monitoring centre and Clinical Research Training Centre. The major research areas of the department are neuropharmacology, cardiovascular pharmacology, herbal drugs, inflammation research and clinical pharmacology.
